EPS – The Masked Reader
Chants of ‘Take it off, take if off!’ echoed down the corridors at Ecclesbourne Primary School as children tried to guess who the masked reader was.

An amazing book-filled week at Cypress! Brilliant Book Week 2026! What an incredibly fun-packed week we have had at Cypress to celebrate all things books!
What a huge treat it was for us today to welcome the poet Steve Sobolewski to share the Friday of Book Week with us!
We were thrilled to welcome author James Sellick to Cypress as part of our Book Week celebrations.
Last week Year 2 brought their Thematic topic alive by visiting London.
It was so lovely to share all the children’s fantastic work with parents today.
January has flown by for Year 2 and we’ve certainly been keeping busy.
This week, Year 2 took part in a focused and engaging financial literacy workshop.
What a show! 🌟 Lilac Class absolutely sparked with excitement in their recent assembly and whisked us all on a whirlwind journey through time.
On Friday, schools across the trust participated in an interschool poetry competition.
Year 2 had a wonderful visit t the Croydon Mosque and Islamic Centre.
Our three Year 2 classes have visited Croydon Mosque and Islamic Centre this week, as part of their RE learning about different faiths and their places of worship.
The children were thrilled today that Santa took time out of his busy Schedule, particularly this close to Christmas, to come and visit our school.
Hear ye, hear yee.. When school opened on Wednesday 17th, Year 2’s classroom doors swung open to reveal a parade of silks, rags and bonnets as our children arrived as rich and poor Tudors.
Last week Year 2 enjoyed performing to their adults for the Christmas Concert.
