How to Help Your Child with Reading at Home – Whitehorse
Following our recent ‘How to Help Your Child with Reading at Home’ workshop, please find below a recording of the session for those who could not make it in person.
For those parents who will be applying for a reception place for their child for September 2026 we have arranged a series of visits so that they can look around the schools with senior staff.
If you wish to view a school please see here for the available dates. Obviously we have to limit numbers so only parents/carers who have booked will be able to attend.

As Year 2 come towards the end of their Thematic Unit ‘The Terrible Tudors’, they celebrated their learning with Tudor Day.
There was a real reading buzz in classrooms last week as parents were invited to come into school and read with their child.

All our three classes visited the palace this week, as part of their thematic learning on the Tudor era.
On 14th November, our young historians swapped the classroom for the magnificent Hampton Court Palace, Henry’s favourite of his seven homes.
Year 2 classes across Whitehorse have been privileged to visit Hampton Court Palace this week.
Since returning from half term the corridors in Year 2 have been heard roaring with laughter, squealing with delight and gasping in horror as children have discovered Roald Dahl’s terrible twits.
We began our Remembrance Day at Cypress Lower with a wonderful class assembly from Turquoise Class.
The children of Indigo and Lilac class have been getting seriously crafty!
This week it is ‘Black History and Cultural Diversity Week‘ across the Pegasus Academy Trust.
It’s been a busy week in Year 2 right across the Trust, as we have been completing our healthy muffins project.
This week, Year 2 swapped their pencils for mixing spoons and became mini master bakers!
Over the last 4 weeks, Year 2 – Orange class have engaged in Art Enrichment, learning about the Artist; Andy Goldsworthy.
Year 2 had quite an incredible experience this morning. You could call it complete immersion into their new English book ‘The Bear and The Piano’.
