In Little Cypress we have been celebrating the Lunar New Year!

This week in KS1 we have been Building our Learning Powers, considering how we can use resources to help us solve problems. 

Last week, children from across the academy competed in a performance poetry competition. 

What a pleasure to share 4P Morgan’s Class Assembly on the Chinese New Year this morning. 

Today at WHJUN we brought back the Reading Breakfast! (it had been a little while).

A little while ago, I promised that I would write a half termly article focusing on mental health and wellbeing as this aspect of our everyday lives is so important to us all leading a happy and rewarding life. 

Over the past two days, we welcomed parents and carers from our Year 2 and Reception classes to our Reading Café. 

In Year 3, we have been studying the book ‘Jemmy Button’ by  Jennifer Uman and Valerio Vidali. 

Last week in nursery we were still immersing ourselves in the traditional tale, The Gingerbread Man.

Please find attached an information letter about the height and weight checks for children in Reception and Year 6 that has been issued by Croydon School Health Service.

This week Ms Binks recapped our learning on critical thinking. She focused on listening to the viewpoints of others and taking time to analyse and draw conclusions on their thoughts.

In reception this week we have been learning about Chinese New year.

We have had a really positive week at CYP Lower with everyone enjoying the frosty, sunny days.

Our YR1 classes would like to say a HUGE Thank you to Mrs Jenkins, who embarked us yesterday on a journey back in time… The children were so excited to learn about the old toys and to explore how they worked.
