Spring has definitely sprung at WHJUN. In the autumn, hundreds of children took part in our annual bulb planting drive, each planting a daffodil or crocus bulb with their class teacher.
🫶Today, our school family came together in a spirit of love, care, and solidarity to support our Jamaican friends and families who have been affected by Hurricane Melissa.
Our recent trip to Crystal Palace Park was a brilliant day out for everyone.
On Thursday 18th June at the Whitehorse Manor Junior School Hall, 16 nervous, excited finalists took to the stage for annual Year 3 Spelling Bee at the Trust.
On Wednesday, we held International Day at Cypress. Children came to school dressed in outfits that represented their cultural heritage and parents, carers and staff shared their cultural heritage with the pupils at Cypress.
We have had lots of activities to keep us cool this week including water sprinklers, foot spas, iced animals and lots and lots of water play.
Last Thursday, our Brigstock site hosted Emergency Life Support training organised by the Thornton Heath Business and Community Action group.
Our schools and pupils have coped very well with the recent hot weather, which looks set to continue for the rest of this week.
On Monday, four of our brilliant Year 5 pupils stepped up to represent Whitehorse at the prestigious Linguistics Olympiad, hosted by Royal Russell School.
Last Friday, Year 1 enjoyed an exciting and memorable trip to the Horniman Museum.
We have had a fun week in Nursery. Today we celebrated our EYFS fun day which was full of bouncy castles and mini sports games.
With the sun once again beginning to shine, we have had another busy week of classroom learning, trips and in-school events.
This week in Reception, the children continued exploring our exciting topic, ‘Beastly Beasties’, with a focus on the wonderful story Aghhh, Spider!

Year 3 pupils have been focusing closely on their vocabulary and spelling skills over recent weeks.
Year 3 recently visited Fairfield Halls in Croydon to participate in the London Schools Literature Festival.
