Spring has sprung at WHJUN
Spring has definitely sprung at WHJUN. In the autumn, hundreds of children took part in our annual bulb planting drive, each planting a daffodil or crocus bulb with their class teacher.
We are currently recruiting newly qualified and experienced teachers to join The Pegasus Academy Trust either in April or September 2026. Please email Lynne Sampson one of our Executive Principals on lsampson@pegasusacademytrust.org for an informal chat or a chance to visit.

🫶Today, our school family came together in a spirit of love, care, and solidarity to support our Jamaican friends and families who have been affected by Hurricane Melissa.
📚 A Brilliant Week Celebrating Reading! Last week, Whitehorse Manor Junior School was buzzing with excitement as we celebrated our love for books.
Gold class have had a wonderful Spring term hearing and learning about different traditional stories.
What an incredibly fun-packed day we have had at Ecclesbourne celebrating World Book Day 2026 and all things books!
To help get everyone excited about books, we hosted our annual ‘Books, Beans and Bagels’ breakfast morning.
Ecclesbourne were luckily enough to have author Michael DeSouza visit this week.
It has been a busy week in Reception! The children continued learning about the topic, ‘To The Rescue!’
Chants of ‘Take it off, take if off!’ echoed down the corridors at Ecclesbourne Primary School as children tried to guess who the masked reader was.
The children have had lots of exciting activities this week to celebrate book week.

What a huge treat it was for us today to welcome the poet Steve Sobolewski to share the Friday of Book Week with us!
In Reception we we enjoyed exploring the story of Supertato in our literacy lessons.
On Monday, Paul Lyalls visited Ecclesbourne to kick start this year’s Book Week.
Cypress children have had a chance to browse the Book Fair today at the Upper site and see what is on offer.
