Ecclesbourne celebrates Black History
We have been celebrating Black History Month, with a key focus on recognising and celebrating the invaluable contributions and achievements of Black men and women through history.
For those parents who will be applying for a reception place for their child for September 2026 we have arranged a series of visits so that they can look around the schools with senior staff.
If you wish to view a school please see here for the available dates. Obviously we have to limit numbers so only parents/carers who have booked will be able to attend.

On Tuesday Year 4 were treated to a Roman invasion! To support the children’s learning in our thematic curriculum, Year 4 spent the day with a Roman solider who led a brilliant history workshop.
This week we have been learning about Autumn at the Lower School.
In our Reception setting, we have been learning about Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights.
Yesterday, Year 6 at EPS visited the Natural History Museum in South Kensington to learn about evolution – a topic they have been studying since September.

This week in Reception, the children have been busy finishing their first topic, ‘Marvellous Me!’.
On Monday, our Year 6 children had an exciting trip to the Natural History Museum in London.
Year 6 Brings Carnival to Life for Black History Month! Last Friday, the corridors of our school pulsed with rhythm, colour, and joy as Year 6 hosted a spectacular Carnival celebration in honour of Black History Month.
