ATW Reception News – Stories, stories and more stories
What a week we have had in Reception! The children have dazzled us with their creativity and superb writing skills.
For those parents who will be applying for a reception place for their child for September 2026 we have arranged a series of visits so that they can look around the schools with senior staff.
If you wish to view a school please see here for the available dates. Obviously we have to limit numbers so only parents/carers who have booked will be able to attend.

Yellow Class put on a fantastic assembly where they retold and acted out their favourite fairy-tale, A Squash and A Squeeze, with great enthusiasm and creativity.
This week in Reception, the children have been learning about plants and how things grow.
This week in Reception, we have been using the story ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’ to inspire us to create our own stories.

Today in school, Yellow Class had an exciting afternoon playing with water on the field!
This week we have been using the story of Little Red Riding Hood in our learning.
What a fantastic first week back after the Easter holidays! The children came back refreshed and ready to learn.
This week marked an exciting start for Yellow Class as we returned from the Easter break diving into our new topic: ‘Traditional Tales’, or better known as ‘Fairy Tales’.
In Reception this week we were learning about the Christian holiday of Easter.
As the Easter break approaches, Yellow Class bid farewell to their exciting topic, “People Who Help Us” and their class role play “Pizza Restaurant”.
To finish our topic of ‘To The Rescue!’, we looked at the story of ‘Croc goes to the Dentist’.
Last week, our children came into school wearing their finest party clothes in order to raise money for others.
This week we looked at the book, ‘Clean Up!’. In it we saw that our oceans are not as clean as we thought they were and that the rubbish they are being filled with is harming the animals who live in them.
