In Yellow Class, we have been using our Curiosity Cube to discover new things through our observational and oracy skills. The children have been asking thoughtful questions to their peers and adults, trying to work out what the object is inside the cube each week!
Last week, the mystery object was an old-fashioned tape/video. The children had fantastic ideas about what it could be—some thought it was a camera, while others suggested it might be a computer game!
This week, the Curiosity Cube surprised us with pickles! Using our class microphone, the children asked each other who recognised the pickles and what their opinion of them is. By the end of the day, we opened the jar and explored how the pickles felt and smelled. Some brave children even tasted them—and enjoyed them! One child said, “I love pickles, they are so yummy!”
We can’t wait to discover what will appear in our Curiosity Cube next!
