CYP Upper: Wonderful World Book Day
Today, the school is looking a little different. We have all come dressed in our finest for World Book Day.

At Cypress Upper, we have been lucky enough to have two more amazing author assemblies this week.
As part of our Book Week celebrations, Year 6 were visited by an inspirational hip-hop artist and poet, Kimba.
This week, Year 3 have had some very exciting visitors, poet Josh Seigal and author, Graham Whitlock!
Claire Freedman is our author for this half term. She has been writing books for over 15 years and has written over 70 children’s books.
The children have been really busy decorating their own classroom door to look like the cover of their favourite book!
We have had a truly magnificent start to Book Week here at Cypress Upper!
Our World Book Week celebrations have begun and what a way to kick start the week- a visit from Nathan Bryon and Dapo Adeola.
This morning Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 were treated to a fantastic assembly led by the poet James Carter.
We had a very exciting launch to Book Week at Beulah today.
Poet, Neal Zetter, gave us a fantastic start to our Poetry focused Book Week this morning.
Year 6 have been fully immersed in the world of urban dancing.
For the last six weeks, Year 6 have been reading ‘The Red Pyramid,’ by Rick Riordan, an exciting story which begins its adventure in the British Museum.
Today, Year 3 have been experiencing a Caveman day, where they learned all about life in the Stone Age.
On Monday, Year 5 at Ecclesbourne were joined by Brigstock for a visit from a Viking storyteller.
