Our World Book Week celebrations have begun and what a way to kick start the week- a visit from Nathan Bryon and Dapo Adeola. Together, they have written and illustrated the amazing books ‘Look Up’ and ‘Clean Up’.
Year 3 and Year 4 had the opportunity to meet both Nathan and Dapo and hear them read the story ‘Look Up’- a joyous picture book which introduces the character Rocket, a space obsessed girl who wants everybody to be as excited as her about an impending meteor shower. The pictures within the book capture the audience with their eye-popping colour and detail.
Dapo Adeola finished the assembly off with a six step guide on how to draw the character- Luna the Cat. The children’s drawings were super!
On Friday children will be given a £1 book token. They can use this to purchase one of the World Book Week books (12 titles to choose from) and one of which is ‘Rocket Rules’ by Nathan and Dapo.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the visit! we are now looking forward to the rest of the week and celebrating Reading and sharing great stories and poems.
