CYP UPPER: INSPIRING WORKSHOPS IN YEAR 3

This week, Year 3 have had some very exciting visitors, poet Josh Seigal and author, Graham Whitlock!

On Monday, Josh Seigal gave a brilliant assembly where he performed some of his poetry. Then, he gave each class a workshop to inspire us to write our poems. Holly class wrote about their favourite places at night. Birch class wrote about the colours of fireworks and Cedar class wrote about emotions. To end the day we performed our poems in front of each other. We had such a fabulous day being poets!

Today, Graham Whitlock gave a brilliant workshop based on his new novel, The Crystal Palace Chronicles, Star of Nimrod. During his workshop, we learnt about the history of the Crystal Palace and Mr Whitlock shared the first chapter of his book. It was really exciting and he left it on such a cliff-hanger! We can’t wait to find out what happens next! Finally, we discussed if we were to write our own book about the palace what amazing objects would it contain. See how we got in in our photos below.
