At Cypress Upper, we have been lucky enough to have two more amazing author assemblies this week.
Yesterday Kimba visited us and wowed the children with his perfomance poetry. He challenged us to learn part of his poem and say it really quickly. Chidimma in Hawthorn Class was able to recite it perfectly and won her own signed copy of Kimba’s new book “Write the Wrongs”. Year 6 then spent the rest of the day working with Kimba. Today we were very excited to have Margaret Bateson- Hill back with us. She really is a part of the Cypress family. We started the day with a wonderful story telling assembly from Margaret and thoroughly enjoyed joining in with her actions and songs. We were all mesmerised by Margaret’s story. Year 5 are having workshops with Margaret today so look out for an update from the Year 5 team.
Margaret is also joining us for the Poetry Slam tomorrow and we are really excited to see each class perform.
