We have had a truly magnificent start to Book Week here at Cypress Upper! Yesterday we were visited by Josh Seigal, author of fantastic poetry books such as ‘Yapping Away’ and ‘I Don’t LIke Poetry’. He entertained us with his poems during our assembly; we particularly like his poem entitled ‘Addicted to Chicken’. After this he went to Year 3 and worked with each class, developing their poetry skills, some of which will be on show during our poetry slam on Friday! Look out for news stories throughout the week!
Year 4 met Neal Zetter today, author of ‘Universal Zoo’
This week has also inspired some creative independent poetry. Please see below Meredith’s (Lime class) poem, performed by Meredith and her friends, Sophia, Eve, Gracie and Maggie (Lime class). Great job girls – well though out actions to complement the poem; you also delivered your lines with confidence and expression!
Many thanks Mrs Parker for organising a jam-packed and exciting week and a big thank you to our wonderful Cypress PTFA and families at Cypress who have made this inspiring week possible.
