For the last six weeks, Year 6 have been reading ‘The Red Pyramid,’ by Rick Riordan, an exciting story which begins its adventure in the British Museum. We have also been learning about the many Ancient Egyptian treasures held there.
At the end of our topic, we were eager to actually visit the Museum to bring both the story and the treasures to life. We were all captivated by the sheer size of the Rosetta stone, the intricacy of each individual sarcophagus and the preserved remains of real Ancient Egyptian people. We also enjoyed a digital workshop with the challenge of decoding Egyptian tombs. What a fantastic end to our Ancient Egyptian topic!
