As part of our Book Week at Cypress Lower, we welcomed storyteller Kevin Graal to the school today.

Cypress School was buzzing with excitement as we kicked off Book Week with a fantastic visit from poet, Josh Siegal!

Yesterday, Year 6 had an online talk with the Author Matt Goodfellow. 

On Monday 3rd March, Brigstock opened its doors to children and staff dressed up in their favourite book character or in their favourite pyjamas and onesies, to celebrate ‘World Book Day’.

WHINF kicked off book week in inspirational style this week with a visit from a young author. 

Today, Ecclesbourne kicked off Book Week with an action-packed ‘speed read’!

We had a very exciting start to Monday morning at Cypress Lower as we had a wonderful assembly from author and storyteller Margaret Bateson-Hill to launch Book Week. 

The Year 6 children will be undertaking their Key Stage Two SATs  in just a few months, and we are all excited (on some level!)

Gold class has had a wonderful Spring term hearing and learning about different traditional stories.

Red Class have had an exciting and fun-filled start to the term!

Today, Reception had a visit from the Sanderstead Safer Neighbourhoods division of the Metropolitan Police Force.

On Thursday, Year 6 had the privilege of welcoming Shakespeare Rewired to Cypress for an exciting and immersive learning experience.

This week, we’ve taken a thoughtful pause to reflect on the many ways we can demonstrate care—both for others, our environment and ourselves.

Saturn class spent their “We Love Reading” session today dipping into the four Sparks Award shortlisted books.

The sun has finally come out and we are starting to see the first signs of spring around the school as the daffodils start to bloom.
