This week, we have begun reading “who sank the boat?” by Pamela Allen. This book has supported us in making sensible predictions in stories using full sentences. We have been exploring capacity in maths and have used the language full, empty and half. We have also explored floating and sinking, ending the week with our own boat making experiment where the children explored what materials would work best to make a boat.
In forest school, we celebrated our last session of the year with roasting marshmallows! We talked about how to make fires, fire safety and how to put fire out.
Some children have begun to decorate their hats for our ‘Graduation Celebration’!
Our final sound of year is ‘qu’ we learnt words like quick, queen and quack.
