ATW Reception News – Patridges, butterflies and spiders
We have had yet another busy week in Reception. The nine partridges that hatched last week got bigger and stronger over the weekend.
We are currently recruiting newly qualified and experienced teachers to join The Pegasus Academy Trust either in April or September 2026. Please email Lynne Sampson one of our Executive Principals on lsampson@pegasusacademytrust.org for an informal chat or a chance to visit.

We have had yet another busy week in Reception. The nine partridges that hatched last week got bigger and stronger over the weekend.
On Monday 23rd June at the Whitehorse Manor Junior School hall, 16 nervous, excited finalists took to the stage for the first ever Spelling Bee at the Trust.
Last week at Cypress, the sun shone bright and the spirit of friendly competition was even brighter, as we enjoyed not one, but two fantastic Sports Days!
At the Lower School this week, we have been thinking about ‘Zones of Regulation’ and how we manage our emotions.
What a wonderful morning we had! Our Reception Sports Day was full of smiles, sunshine, and lots of fun!
Phonics: Our initial sound in phonics this week has been ‘Z’.
What a nature-filled week it has been in Reception! Our resident tadpoles have all started to develop into froglets.
On Wednesday 19th June, our Year 6 pupils enjoyed a fantastic and well-deserved day out at the O2 in Greenwich—a celebration of their hard work, achievements, and the end of their primary school journey.
This week, the sun came out and temperatures soared but through it all, the children were still focused on their learning.
Oliver’s Milkshake The week started off on a delicious note when we made milkshakes, following listening to the story of ‘Oliver’s Milkshake’.
Sports Day! The best day of the school calendar! On Tuesday, the air around the school was charged with ‘sporting spirit’.
This past week, Year 2 have enjoyed trips to Morden Hall Park.
Last week, Year 3 took part in a wonderful Stone Age workshop in a tent on the field.
On Monday, our Year 2 choir sang their hearts out at our Academy concert at Whitehorse Junior School.
We had a fantastic day celebrating poetry and we couldn’t be prouder of our children!
