Jeans for Genes at WHJUN
On Monday we had an assembly to remind us what ‘Jeans for Genes’ day is all about.
For those parents who will be applying for a reception place for their child for September 2026 we have arranged a series of visits so that they can look around the schools with senior staff.
If you wish to view a school please see here for the available dates. Obviously we have to limit numbers so only parents/carers who have booked will be able to attend.
On Monday we had an assembly to remind us what ‘Jeans for Genes’ day is all about.
What better way to teach the Year 6 science topic of ‘evolution and adaptation’ than by having Ms Whitfield bring in Boyce, her pet tortoise, so that the children could see first hand how well adapted tortoises are.
Today, the staff and children came dressed in as much denim as possible, to raise money for the charity ‘Jeans for Genes’.
On Tuesday evening we were thrilled to welcome Levi Roots to Ecclesbourne!
The new Reception children have settled so quickly and well; we are incredibly proud of them.
This week Year 2 were lucky enough to have a visit from Nabhi from the Institute of Vedic Education.
Year 2 have hit the ground running since their return to school.
Have you seen our new ‘Reading Shed’? Our shed is open most lunch times so come and have a browse!
Our Year 1 Curriculum meeting was well attended this year! Thank you to all of our parents and carers for making it such an interactive session!
We have had a wonderful first full week back at Cypress and the children are all settled and producing some good learning.
