whinf Celebrating Diwali with Colours and Pattern
In our Reception setting, we have been learning about Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights.
For those parents who will be applying for a reception place for their child for September 2026 we have arranged a series of visits so that they can look around the schools with senior staff.
If you wish to view a school please see here for the available dates. Obviously we have to limit numbers so only parents/carers who have booked will be able to attend.

This week in Nursery, we have been looking at celebrations. We started the week celebrating Diwali.
This week in Reception, the children have been busy finishing their first topic, ‘Marvellous Me!’.
In Reception, we used the book Funnybones during literacy lessons to help develop children’s language and storytelling skills.
Diwali Fun in Little Cypress In Little Cypress, we have been learning about Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Light.
It is Black History Month, and the children have been learning about the importance of celebrating it.
This week we have used The Rainbow fish to teach our Reception classes about sharing and kindness.
In Reception this week, we have been reading ‘The Leaf Thief’ by Alice Hemming.
In Gold Class, we have been reading and learning all about the story ‘Owl Babies’.

This week we used the story So Much by Trish Cooke to help us talk about our families.

In Reception this week, we have been reading ‘The Rainbow Fish’ by Marcus Pfister.
Today at school, Yellow Class had a fantastic time learning all about the phoneme ‘k’ for kite.
