Fair Play
We have had a fun and creative week in Little Cypress, making decorations for the Summer Fair. The weather has been really hot on some days and we have been trying to keep super cool with fans in our classrooms, plenty of water, sunscreen and wearing our hats, as well as staying in the shade as much as we can. Nursery went in the lovely, cool Community Room to play some circle games on Thursday and we focused really well on listening to instructions and taking turns. We had a blast on Friday when we played with the water from the hose pipe and floated some boats down the drainpipes using water and gravity to move them.
We have been practising our cutting skills throughout the week and we are so impressed with the accuracy and confidence the children are showing.
Our conversational skills are improving by the minute. Bella told me: “My baby now has a round face and she is starting to get curly hair coming from the top of her head!”
Seb said: “I went to the Natural History Museum but I didn’t see this dinosaur!” (showing me some illustrations of dinosaur skeletons in a book)
Laolu was playing with some round magnets and commented: “They stick together because they are magnetised!”
Book Corner Glow-up!
We are so lucky in Nursery as a very kind parent donated us a beautiful L-shaped sofa for our book corner. It looks fabulous and we are taking really good care of it, reminding each other not to put our feet on the material! Thank you so much, Alice Breed – we are very grateful and it will be well used and well loved!
Makaton Sign of the Week
As usual, we have learned a new Makaton sign. This week’s is a fun word to sign: pineapple! Click here to see how to sign the word ‘pineapple’.
Rainbow Certificates
Congratulations to our Rainbow Certificate recipients this week. In Nursery, they are:
Aisha M – for joining in so well with our circle games and for being such a polite birthday girl! When she gave out her birthday treats, she even reminded children very nicely to wish her a Happy Birthday!
Robin – for joining in our circle games so beautifully and for always being such a cheerful member of our class!
In Rainbows, Luna D – for wonderful focus and singing and Millie for making a fabulous rainbow house using all the colours of the rainbow
We hope you all have a fantastic weekend and hope that we see lots of you at the Cypress Summer Fair tomorrow!
