CYP Lower – Jeanne Willis visits Cypress
It was a very exciting start to the day at Cypress Lower today as author Jeanne Willis came to visit us and her book ‘Bog Baby’ is part of our Reception curriculum.
We have some places remaining at our Nursery at Ecclesbourne Primary School in September. Full time and part time places are available. As part of our Book Week at Cypress Lower, we welcomed storyteller Kevin Graal to the school today.
We had a very exciting start to Monday morning at Cypress Lower as we had a wonderful assembly from author and storyteller Margaret Bateson-Hill to launch Book Week.
On Tuesday it was Safer Internet Day and this year the theme was ‘Too Good To Be True’.
It has been a very busy day at Cypress Lower. We started the day with children and staff arriving dressed as dragons, monsters, toys and Tudors.
At the Lower School, we are learning about empathy. We began by learning that empathy is the ability to share someone else’s feelings or experiences by imagining what it would be like to be in that person’s situation.
We began the day at Cypress Lower today with a lovely assembly from Blue Class.
It has been another busy week at Cypress with children making leaps in their learning and heading out on trips to learn from the world around us.
We have had a busy week of learning at Cypress and we have loved seeing the children progress.

Reception at Cypress Lower have been working very hard over the last few weeks to prepare for their ‘Wriggly Nativity’.
We are very proud to announce that Miss Chapman, Deputy Head of School, is part of a Department for Education campaign to promote careers in the Early Years.
This week, we have been showing how kind and caring we are towards each other as it has been ‘Friendship Week’ At the Lower School, we started the week with a special assembly led by Miss Williams where we learnt all about what it means to be a good friend.
It has been another busy week at Cypress and children have been busy learning and exploring and showing they care At the Lower School, we marked Remembrance Day with a special assembly.
We began the week at Lower site with a special ‘Speak out and Stay Safe‘ assembly.
