We’ve had a fantastic Friendship Week at Cypress Lower School, learning how to be good friends and celebrating kindness.
What a great week it’s been in school! We’ve enjoyed odd sock day to celebrate uniqueness, had a Pudsey Bear hunt and biscuit sale for charity and generally enjoyed basking in the warm and friendly atmosphere that’s been promoted through discussions around being a good friend and showing we care.

Last week, year 5 had a Victorian day which many children enjoyed.

We have been learning all about rainbows and colours in nursery and have been reading the story books ‘What Makes A Rainbow’ and ‘Rainbow Colours.’
We have had a very empowering week this week because we have taken part in the Anti-Bullying week which has included celebrating ‘friendship’.
In our English lessons, we have been reading The Twits by Roald Dahl.
Year 2 enjoyed a fascinating presentation on Diwali- the festival of light.
On Tuesday, we took part in Odd Socks day as part of our Friendship week celebrations.
Today, years 3-6 at Brigstock thoroughly enjoyed taking part in workshops for the Lion King!
This time last year I was approached by one of our parents, asking if we had any old and unused resources which might be useful to a Nursery School that her mother was setting up in Ghana.
Yesterday, staff and children at Brigstock and WHJUN main site celebrated uniqueness by wearing odd socks.
