Whether it’s lacing up fresh trainers before a match, hearing the roar of the crowd as you step onto the pitch, nailing a perfect shot or celebrating a last-minute win with your teammates — how would you describe the ultimate sports moment?
After the success of the PAT Summer Poetry Competition last year, it is our privilege and pleasure to invite students from Year 1 – Year 6 to participate in the Pegasus Academy inter-school literary competition! The theme this year is Sports. We are also proud to be sponsored by Palace for Life Foundation and they have some incredible prizes up for grabs including a trip to Crystal Palace FC!
To enter to the competition, you must create your own poem around the theme: Sports. The deadline for you to hand your poem in to your class teacher is Friday 9th January. If you are chosen, this poem will then be performed at Whitehorse Manor School on Friday 23rd January. You will be competing with children in the same year group across the trust.
Performed poems will be judged on:
- Delivering the poem with beautiful articulation;
- Prosody (Intonation, Pitch and Pace);
- Including elements of humour;
- Ambitious word choices; and
- Gestures and appropriate expression.
Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.
You will be notified on Friday 16th January if you have been chosen to represent your school and year group for the competition!
Good luck!
