Hear ye, hear yee..
When school opened on Wednesday 17th, Year 2’s classroom doors swung open to reveal a parade of silks, rags and bonnets as our children arrived as rich and poor Tudors. Before anyone could whisper scandal, they were immediately knighted by Lord Aaron and promoted to Lords and Ladies of the great Realm Beulah. With titles secured, they swept into the school hall for the finest soiree the court has ever seen, hosted (very graciously) by the teachers.
As the party was reaching it peak, the court musician (Mr Smith) sounded a trumpet blast and all heads turned. Enter Henry VIII himself; stern, dramatic and very much larger than life. Thankfully, no child was beheaded. His majesty was clearly feeling gracious as he allowed the children to ask all their burning questions which they have had since the start of the term.
We had questions like; ” Why is Henry so strict?” and “Why didn’t Henry eat vegetables that grew underground?”
Just when Henry was about to fly into one of his famous temper-tantrums, Lady Heward organised a dazzling display of Tudor dancing. Before King Henry departed Beulah, he left behind a royal banquet fit for nobility. The menu? Swan pie and turtle pieces (all chicken). The miniature lords and ladies definitely loved their banquet.
It was truly a fantastic day when history came alive, learning took centre stage, and Beulah Infants proved they rule the realm.
