Pegasus Spring Poetry Competition

The snow is melting, flowers are blooming, and the days are getting warmer. It must be spring!

It is our privilege and pleasure to invite students from year 1 – year 6 to participate in the Pegasus Academy inter-school literary competition! This friendly competition provides the perfect platform for students to express their creativity and continue to develop their communication skills.

To enter to the competition, you must create your own poem around the theme Spring: Rhymes and Tickles. The deadline for you to hand your poem in to your class teacher is Monday 19th February. If you are chosen, this poem will then be performed at Whitehorse Manor School on Friday 1st March. You will be competing with children in the same year group across the trust.

Performed poems will be judged on:

  1. Delivering the poem with beautiful articulation;
  2. Prosody (Intonation, Pitch and Pace);
  3. Including elements of humour;
  4. Ambitious word choices; and
  5. Gestures and appropriate expression.

Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.

You will be notified on Friday 23rd February if you have been chosen to represent your school and year group for the competition!

Good luck!
