ATW Newsletter 10th January 2025
Happy New Year. It has been lovely to see all the children back in school after the break and we have launched straight back in to our learning.
We have some places remaining at our Nursery at Ecclesbourne Primary School in September. Full time and part time places are available. On Tuesday, Year 1 had lots of fun learning about old and new toys.
The topic for this half-term in Reception is ‘Watch out—there’s a monster about!’
After a busy final week, we have made it to the end of term.
Christmas has really taken off at Atwood this week. A slighter shorter newsletter this week as, amidst all the usual learning, everyone has either been performing or rehearsing for shows.
Christmas, Christmas, Christmas is the theme in Nursery this week. We have been very busy practising our Christmas songs ahead of our classroom performance on Monday 16th December as well as making some props for display.
This week in Reception, the children learned about the Nativity. They discovered that people who follow the Christian religion celebrate Christmas because of the birth of Jesus Christ.
The children in Nursery have continued their learning about colours with its link to the story ‘Mouse Paint’ by Ellen Stoll Walsh.
December has arrived and the school is beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
This week in Reception, the children have been busy exploring our amazing world.
