Atwood EYFS news – a colourful Christmas world
It is starting to look a lot like Christmas in the Early Years, especially as a lot of the crafts made at Christmas Making day are hanging up in all of the classrooms.
For those parents who will be applying for a reception place for their child for September 2026 we have arranged a series of visits so that they can look around the schools with senior staff.
If you wish to view a school please see here for the available dates. Obviously we have to limit numbers so only parents/carers who have booked will be able to attend.

A huge well done to all of the reception classes as they did a fantastic job performing for their grown-ups and loved ones at their Christmas concert.
December is here, and Christmas Making Day is a fantastic way to kick off the festive month!
Road Safety Week We have been focusing on Road Safety this week at Cypress and the children have enjoyed learning more about keeping safe on our roads.
What an amazing world we live in. The children in Early Years have been outside enjoying the changing weather, and appreciating the last bit of sun for the year.
Our Trust Staff Meeting at Cypress on Handwriting in the Early Years, for our Early Years and Year 1 practitioners, was a fantastic opportunity for the adults to have some fun, as well as learning some important pedagogy and practical ideas to teach this crucial life skill.
On Monday, we introduced our Anti-Bulling / Friendship Week by wearing odd socks to school and sharing what it means to be a good friend in our whole school assembly.
This week at WHINF we have been celebrating friendship week. We began by wearing odd socks to celebrate our uniqueness.
This week reception have been learning about Remembrance Day. We had a class discussion about why we celebrate Remembrance day and what it means.
This week we have been learning about Armistice Day and Remembrance in our school.
In the last week of half term, Yellow Class had a busy week of learning lots of new things!
Thank you to all those who donated food for our Harvest Celebration and attended the year 1 and 2 assemblies.
This week we have been learning all about seasons and we have been focusing on the changes that happen during Autumn.
On Friday, we celebrated our Harvest Assembly with many of our parents.
This week reception have been looking the book ‘Funnybones’ by Janet and Allan Ahlberg.
