CYP: Celebrating a Successful Term
It has been a busy four days in the run up to the Christmas after what has been a very long term.
For those parents who will be applying for a reception place for their child for September 2026 we have arranged a series of visits so that they can look around the schools with senior staff.
If you wish to view a school please see here for the available dates. Obviously we have to limit numbers so only parents/carers who have booked will be able to attend.

Year 6 were lucky enough to have PC Rick Flynn and PC Martin Allen come in and discuss issues the children might face with their transition to Secondary School.
Road Safety Week We have been focusing on Road Safety this week at Cypress and the children have enjoyed learning more about keeping safe on our roads.
Last week, as part of our RE learning about Hinduism, Year 4 visited the Sakthy Ghanapathy Temple in Thornton Heath.

Yesterday, over 50 of our Year 1-4 children competed at the Croydon schools cross country event.
As part of their studies on places of worship the Year 3 children visited St John the Evangelist Church in Upper Norwood.
Last Friday, Connemara Class in Year 4 performed an assembly in celebration of the Harvest Festival.
The gardening club at WHJUN has been out in force this week, picking up litter, weeding and planting daffodil bulbs on the edge of the field for us all to enjoy in the Spring.
As part of our continued commitment to reading and phonics, we were delighted to take delivery this week of even more books to support the delivery of our Little Wandle Phonics programme.
The JTA’s (Junior Travel Ambassadors) are encouraging all staff, pupils and carers to dispense with their cars on Friday 29th September and explore other modes of transportation to and from school that day.
Welcome back! What a lovely week to start the term and my time at Atwood.
This week has been a busy week, but we have also been reflective.
Today, Armistice Day, or Remembrance Day as it’s also known, marks the very day that World War One ended in 1918.
The children had fun today celebrating the up coming Queen’s Jubilee.
