On Wednesday 26th November, Year 5 enjoyed an exciting and informative visit from our local police officers.
Throughout the morning, the children took part in three engaging activities. First, they headed to the top of the road to work alongside the police in checking the speed of passing cars. When a driver was found exceeding the limit, the children had the chance to ask questions-an experience that not only encouraged drivers to take accountability but also reinforced the importance of road safety for our pupils.
Back at school, the children explored a real police van and even had a turn pressing the siren. They also quizzed the officers about the impact of speeding and learned more about policing in the community.
To finish the session, everyone had fun trying on a range of police gear, including hats, jackets and even riot helmets.
It was a memorable morning that combined learning with hands-on experience – an exciting day for all!
