Year 3 visit the Crystal Palace Park
This week, the year 3 children from Brigstock, Whitehorse Manor Junior and Ecclesbourne schools went on a trip to the Crystal Palace park.
We have some places remaining at our Nursery at Ecclesbourne Primary School in September. Full time and part time places are available. Last week, as part of our RE learning about Hinduism, Year 4 visited the Sakthy Ghanapathy Temple in Thornton Heath.
Year 3 have been really enjoying learning about dinosaurs in reading, literacy and thematic.
Last Friday, Connemara Class in Year 4 performed an assembly in celebration of the Harvest Festival.
The gardening club at WHJUN has been out in force this week, picking up litter, weeding and planting daffodil bulbs on the edge of the field for us all to enjoy in the Spring.
Thank you to all the parents and carers who attended the meeting last night all about our residential camping trip to Cuffley!

As you are hopefully aware, the deadline for applying for a secondary school for your child to attend in September 2024 is fast approaching.
The JTA’s (Junior Travel Ambassadors) are encouraging all staff, pupils and carers to dispense with their cars on Friday 29th September and explore other modes of transportation to and from school that day.
On Friday, Ms Nwosu had the pleasure of taking a small group of girl athletes to a ‘Gifted and Talented’ sports event hosted by Croydon High School.
It was a lovely to hear our potential House and Vice House Captains give their election speeches last Friday.
It is with great sadness that I write to inform you that our lovely Teaching Assistant, Sharon Thomas, sadly died during the summer holidays.
It was lovely to welcome our pupils back last week in blazing sunshine and I’d like to extend a huge welcome to our new Year 3 classes, who have already been demonstrating great learning behaviours in their first week with us.
Parents and carers will have become aware of the current issue with some schools in the UK that have buildings made of RAAC – Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete.
