World Maths Day at EPS!

This week, Ecclesbourne celebrated World Maths Day in style! The children’s costumes for the maths mufti were amazing and incredibly creative (please take a look at the pictures). Prizes were given for the best outfits in each year group in our special ‘mathstastic’ assembly.  Children also took part in a carnival of problem-solving activities in their phase groups and really enjoyed being challenged by different teachers.

Our Mathletics competition was hotly contested over the two days it ran but victory was finally achieved by Planets class in Year 4. An honourable mention also needs to go to Mekhi in Jupiter class who was the highest scoring pupil in the school. He also came 213th in the Uk and 844th in the world (not bad when there were over 5 million contestants!).

It was a great day of inspiring maths and we are looking forward to next year already.
