CYP Lower – Hot, hot, hot!
This week has been incredibly hot and with temperatures set to soar next week, we’ve been thinking of ways to keep cool.
We have some places remaining at our Nursery at Ecclesbourne Primary School in September. Full time and part time places are available. Please call 020 8684 3187 and ask to speak to Cheryl Peters (school hours Monday to Thursday) or e-mail epsadmin@pegasusacademytrust.org for more information. On Friday 8th July, Year 5 travelled to the Tower of London as part of their ‘Crime and Punishment’ topic.
This week we have been thinking about how to show understanding – being aware of other people’s feelings, being tolerant and forgiving.
Today was the day we’ve all been waiting for… CYPRESS LOWER SPORTS DAY!
A big Cypress well done to Evie, Maxwell, Sebastian, Raymond and Pablo for their efforts to support those affected by the conflict in Ukraine.
Children got the surprise of their lives when they got to meet Ava, a half girl half osprey, from a story they read in class before visiting the London Wetlands Centre.
Last week, Year 6 travelled to Chessington World of Adventures. We had a wonderful day swooping through the air like bats on the Vampire ride, spinning and twisting on the Cobra and being swung like pirates on the Blue Barnacle.
Well done to Yellow class who performed amazingly in their class assembly, sharing their learning about minibeasts.
Yesterday and today have been our Upper School Sports Days. We have had tremendous fun!
This morning our Reception children joined KS1 in the hall for Rainbow assembly for the first time, in preparation for their transition to Year 1 in September.
Well done to Red class who led a fantastic assembly this morning, sharing their learning about minibeasts.
Last week we were treated to a concert showcasing the budding musicians we have at Cypress.
This week, Year 3 have been taking part in Science week!
It has been Science Week and Refugee Week at Cypress. We have been considering the amazing contributions of people who have come to the UK fleeing war, natural disasters or persecution and used our empathy skills to imagine what it would be like to leave your home country, at short notice, with few or none of your personal belongings.
In Little Cypress this week we have been enjoying Science Week and learning all about the lifecycle of the butterfly.
