Cypress Upper: Shining our light!
Yesterday, we learned about Diwali and the significance of the festival of light and have listened to Hindu stories.

This week, we have been investigating a number of influential black people in recent British history that made a huge impact to society and the way we live our lives today.
Year 2 have been spoilt with a trip to Hampton Court Palace.

Y5 have been really enjoying their Black History Month learning this week, especially the fantastic stories we have heard each afternoon from different staff members.
This week was Black History Week at Cypress. We have enjoyed our daily ‘storyteller sessions’, with a new story teller each day.
We have had a spooky time in Little Cypress this week, learning all about Halloween.

This week our Year 1 children walked to Upper Norwood Library.
Yet another week has whizzed by and we can’t believe we are heading towards half-term already!
This week we focused on our strengths and developmental areas as learners.

Year 3 children across the Academy have recently studied a poem by a famous author named Robert Louis Stevenson.
Today was a special day at Cypress Lower as we hosted our first class assembly in our school hall.
Year 6 have been studying artwork and poetry based around themes of migrants, refugees and asylum seekers.
