As part of our thematic unit ‘Oh I do like to be beside the seaside’, our three Year 2 classes have visited Brighton beach this month. After a walk around the Palace Pier, we had our picnic on the pebbles away from those pesky seagulls. Then our children loved dipping their feet in the refreshing sea, screaming as the waves rolled in. Another hit was to throw the pebbles as far as possible in the water. A few children attempted to build towers or buried their legs in the pebbles! Soon enough it was time to leave and enjoy a well-earned ice lolly.
