Celebrating Black History Month at our school was a vibrant, inspiring, and delightfully busy occasion! Our classrooms were buzzing as pupils explored the accomplishments of influential Black figures.
In Reception, our youngest learners discovered the bravery of healthcare hero Mary Seacole. Year 1 set their sights on the stars with astronaut Mae Jemison, while Year 2 took a deep dive into the life of Floella Benjamin. Year 2 even performed a fantastic skit summarising Floella’s journey—with enough dramatic flair to give West End stars a run for their money!
Our corridors transformed into a colourful gallery of student artwork honoring these pioneers. To top it all off, the school turned into a sea of red as children and staff wore red in support of Show Racism the Red Card, highlighting our commitment to equality and kindness.
Thank you to everyone for making the month so memorable and fun!
