We began our Remembrance Day at Cypress Lower with a wonderful class assembly from Turquoise Class. We were so pleased to have so many parents and carers join us in marking this important day.
Turquoise Class produced a very moving and poignant assembly reflecting on those who sacrificed their lives for others during the first and second world wars. They taught us about the origin of Remembrance Day and the two minutes silence and why the poppy was chosen as a symbol.
The children performed songs and poetry inspired by Remembrance Day in a very respectful manner which moved us all. The children ended the assembly with their hopes and dreams of how to make the world a better place.

We are so proud of the confidence and prosody they used in their performance. The children worked so well as a team and produced a very memorable performance.
Thank you to Mrs Gilbert, Ms Catterall and Mr Pryce for all your hard work preparing the children for the assembly.
