Year 5 enjoyed a memorable visit to the Siri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara in West Croydon as part of their RE learning about the Sikh faith. The children explored different areas of the Gurdwara, including the prayer hall, where they learned about worship and experienced the peaceful atmosphere. They listened to an informative talk about the history of Sikhism which helped them understand its origins and key beliefs. The pupils were also fascinated to learn about the important work the Gurdwara does to support the local community, including providing free meals through the langar and helping those in need. It was a fun and welcoming visit that helped deepen the children’s understanding of Sikh values such as kindness, equality and service to others.
