Cypress Upper: We are reflective learners

This week we have been working on being reflective learners. We have been taking time to consider our strengths and areas for development. We have also been thinking about the actions we need to take, to improve ourselves in the areas we have identified. We know that this will accelerate our progress and thinking about our next steps will make us better at learning. Being able to vocalise our understanding of ourselves is also important and this is something we are also developing. Some of our  Year 6 children have been focusing on long division and thinking carefully about where their difficulties lie, which parts of the process they find tricky. Some students took home extra equations to work on so they could develop the areas they found difficult so that they could approach long division with more confidence! Well done!

Lime Class Assembly

Lime Class delivered a wonderful assembly on Boudicca, focusing on when and how the Romans invaded Britain and Boudicca’s story. The children spoke with great expression and confidence. They shared interesting facts in their ‘Did you know?’ section and children showed their work, which was beautifully presented – we especially loved the ‘pop -up’ element! There was incredible acting and melodic singing; we really enjoyed your rendition of Viva La Vida’ by Coldplay with actions! Well done to Ms Patel, Mrs Sa Walmsley and Mrs Joshi, for helping the children put on such a wonderful assembly. Lastly, and most importantly, well done Lime class – you were amazing! Parents of children in Lime class will be able to re-watch the assembly from the Lime class blog from this evening.
