Cypress Primary – Welcome Back!

We are back to school and feeling ready to dive into our learning!  Although this has been a shorter week, children have returned with lots of enthusiasm for the half term ahead.  Please keep an eye on the website for upcoming Cypress dates this half term.

Year 5 have started their English unit on ‘Spooky Soup’, which will culminate in the children writing instructions in the form of recipes. Click here to read their story and see photos.

Beech Class treated us to a fantastic assembly about the Suffragettes and the life of Emmeline Pankhurst. They shared some facts, and delivered speeches inspiring politicians to give women the right to vote!  Well done to Beech class for amazing intonation and confident delivery of their speeches. A big well done also to the adults who helped them deliver a great assembly- Ms Binks, Ms Prideaux, Ms Brathwaite and Miss Brewer.

Our Year 4 trip to the Hindu temple was postponed this week, due to rain and severe weather warnings; thank you for your understanding. We will inform you of the rescheduled date as soon as we can.

Next week we are looking forward to Violet class assembly.  We will also be selling poppies to support the Royal British Legion, so please donate if you are able to.

At the Lower School today we spoke about keeping safe if visiting any bonfire or firework displays this weekend.  Wrap up warm, be safe and have a lovely time!
