WHINF – Little Red Riding Hood!
This week we welcomed back Reception and jumped straight into our new topic ‘Once upon a time’.

Reception came back to a very eventful first week of the summer term.
Nursery has had a lovely first week back. We have been learning all about travel, which has encouraged some great conversations about what sort of transport we’ve been on and where we have gone.
At the end of the spring term children were invited to take part in a competition to celebrate the launch of the Figures of Black British Society (FOBBS) app.
It is hard to believe that we have reached the end of another term.
As the term draws to a close, I would like to wish you all a restful break.
Spring Festivals We have been learning about different Spring Festivals and traditions this week, including the Hindu Festival of Holi, Ramadan and Eid for Muslims and Easter for Christians.
There has been a lot of Easter fun going on in the Early Years at Atwood.
This week we held our annual Easter egg raffle and it was a huge success!
EPS Staff beat our children’s netball teams in a pair of tightly fought battles.
Year 2 had a great time yesterday morning, taking part in a fun relay event.
Year 1 have used their scientific knowledge of materials to design a boat in their DT lessons.
Starting next week, Ecclesbourne is bidding for a cash boost from the Tesco Stronger Starts scheme, which provides grant awards of up to £1,500 to local community projects.
I always think that the best class assemblies just tell parents what you are getting up to at school, because we all know that whenever you ask a child what they did at school the first response is usually: Nothing!
This half-term in Year 4,the children have begun to learn about Anglo-Saxons and have looked at the beautiful illuminated manuscripts from that time in history.
