ATW Early Years News -Autumn, Black History Month and Peace at Last
In Reception this week, the children have been learning about the seasons.

We had two fabulous Harvest assemblies this week! Well done to the year 1 and 2 children who sang so beautifully in their Harvest assemblies.
Whitehorse Infants would like to introduce this year’s Eco Friends! They have made a great start by completing an Environmental Review of the school to look at what areas we are doing well in and what areas we can improve.
On Tuesday afternoon, Year 1 walked to Sanderstead Recreation to discover human and physical features in their local area.
It was simply delightful to meet the newly elected members of year 6 School Council 24-25.
On the 24th July 2024 the School Council Team at Whitehorse Manor Juniors have formed a ‘Well-being Committee’.
At the end of last year, Whitehorse Manor-Brigstock trialled the ‘The Powers of Positivity’ (TPOP) wellbeing Programme in Year 2 with Miss Gordon and Miss McKenzie.

The theme for Black History Month 2024 is ‘Reclaiming Narratives’ and marks a significant shift towards recognising and correcting the narratives of Black history and culture.
This week at the Lower School, we have been continuing our work on growth mindset and ‘the power of yet’.
A huge thank you to all our families who donated cake and came along to our Macmillan Coffee Morning last week – together we raised a whopping £160 for the charity!
