Another fantastic week has flown by in Little Cypress! In Nursery we have been exploring colour through printing with the primary colours: red, blue and yellow and making fantastic patterns with the different shapes. Rainbows have been thinking about mark-making when making some prickly hedgehogs and creating the spikes by making long marks on the paper.
Little Cypress Superstars
We have made fabulous progress this week in our Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED). We have been thinking carefully about how best to listen and learn when we are a whole class. In Nursery, if we remember these top tips (listening ears, looking eyes, hands to ourselves) we get a special star in our Star Jar on our Nursery Superstars board. Here, the adults note down any kind and helpful things the children have done and add it to their named photo on the board. We have ‘caught’ the children this week doing amazing things such as: offering each other aprons when they are playing in the water, tidying up the book corner and the writing area, sharing books in the book corner, giving other children tissues if they are upset and lots, lots more. What kind and caring children we have in Little Cypress! We are all so proud of how well the children are settling in.
Makaton Sign of the Week
We are learning a new Makaton sign each week, and we couldn’t have grandmother/granny/nanny/grandma last week without having grandfather/grandad/grandpa this week! Click here to see how to sign the word ‘grandfather’.
Macmillan Cancer Cake Sale/Coffee Morning
Hopefully, some of you managed to have a cake from the after-school cake sale, where we are raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Please click here for more information about this fantastic fundraiser. We also had a Macmillan Coffee Morning in the lower school hall earlier today, which was very well attended.
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
