CYP LOWER: Love is in the air in Little Cypress!

We have had a short but fun-packed half-term here in Little Cypress and the staff have all been so impressed with how the children are developing their independence. We are half way through the school year and it seems to be going so quickly!

Museum Day

The wonderful art work and artefacts we have been making this half-term was displayed in the hall this morning for Museum Day at Cypress. How wonderful to see all the children’s hard work on show and for so many of the parents and carers to come along and enjoy the Little Cypress ‘museum’. The hall was awash with red and pink for both Valentine’s Day and for Chinese New Year. We had made love heart tea light holders, Valentine’s Day cards, dragons, symbols of animals from The Great Race written in traditional Chinese, Chinese symbol repeated patterns and wonderful paintings of Cherry Blossoms. There was also an array of photos of Rainbows and Nursery children creating their masterpieces.

Please take a look at the video of the whole of Lower School’s Museum Day:

Many of the children also dressed up today to reflect the themes of Love and Chinese New Year. We had some incredible costumes, including our very own Cupid, lots of beautiful red and pink outfits, red football strips and an assortment of both Spiderman and Supermen!

Makaton Sign of the Week

Our sign for this week is quite a delicious one! We learned the sign for chocolate. Click here to see how to sign the word chocolate.

From all of us in Little Cypress, we hope you have a lovely half-term break.
