Dear Parents and Carers,
As another busy year draws to a close, we take a moment to reflect on the many people who have supported us and made learning at Cypress both meaningful and fun. With the new academic year on the horizon, we also prepare to say goodbye to some valued members of our school community, as they set off on exciting new adventures.
We bid farewell to Mrs Sa Walmsley, who is leaving us to pursue a career as a travel agent. Mrs Sa Walmsley has been with us for over 10 years and has been a committed and caring member of staff to children and to the adults at Cypress. She took on the role of teaching of Spanish two years ago and dedicated herself to personally perfecting her Spanish to ensure every lesson she taught was the best it could be. We wish her every success in this new chapter and we will certainly know who to call when we are looking for a great holiday deal! We will miss you so much!
We also say goodbye to Ms Nicholson, our Year 3 class teaching assistant. Though your time with us was brief, your dedication and support have been truly appreciated by both staff and children alike.
After over a decade of service, Ms Sterling will also be moving on. She has worked part-time across all year groups at the Upper School, from Year 3 through to Year 6. Her kindness, professionalism, and incredible team spirit have made a lasting impact, and she will be greatly missed by us all.
We say au revoir (for now!) to Mrs Shote, who is leaving to have a baby. We are absolutely thrilled for her and send our warmest wishes as she embarks on this exciting new journey. We can’t wait for baby cuddles when she’s ready to introduce us to her little one!
Meanwhile, Mrs Chaudhri and Mrs Corbet will continue teaching in Year 5 and Year 6 respectively until they begin their maternity leave next term.
While it’s always bittersweet to say goodbye, we’re equally excited to welcome several new members to our Cypress team this September:
-
Ms Richardson will be joining us as Hawthorn Class teacher in Year 4
-
Ms Chira and Mrs Dodd will be co-teaching in Birch Class, Year 3
-
Mrs Manson joins as Larch Class teacher
-
Miss Mills will be teaching Holly Class one day a week
I’m sure you’ll join us in wishing our departing colleagues all the very best in their future endeavours and in giving a warm Cypress welcome to our new staff members.
Best wishes,
Mrs Carpenter
