Atwood Year 5 Poetry.
In Year Five, the children have been creating and performing ‘blackout’ Poetry using the book The Lost Words: A Spell Book by Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris’.
For those parents who will be applying for a reception place for their child for September 2026 we have arranged a series of visits so that they can look around the schools with senior staff.
If you wish to view a school please see here for the available dates. Obviously we have to limit numbers so only parents/carers who have booked will be able to attend.

The Atwood girls’ football team opened their season with a win this week.
As part of our continued commitment to reading and phonics, we were delighted to take delivery this week of even more books to support the delivery of our Little Wandle Phonics programme.
In the Early Years we look at the world around us a lot and explore similarities, differences and change.
On Monday this week, a selection of Year 5 and 6 pupils represented the school at the Croydon’s prestigious interschool cross country competition.

In the Early Years, children have been enjoying the unexpected good weather and have spent a lot of time outside.
Everybody has been busy this September in the Early Years getting to know all of the new children and helping them feel safe and happy at school.
It was lovely to see Atwood come alive today with a splash of colour as we held a mufti day in aid of the AT Society.
This week at Atwood a group of Year 5 children are being put through their paces on their bikes.
As ever, there has been lots going on at Atwood. Year group by year group Our Reception children have started attending for full days and have been getting to grips with lunchtimes, playtimes and spending longer in school.
This week, Year 6 have been on a fantastic adventure. They set off on Monday to Stubbers Adventure Centre for a week of activities and fun.
It has been another busy week at Atwood. After the corridors being empty last week, it is great to walk through the Early Years and hear the chatter and buzz of children in the classrooms.
One of our Year 3 pupils was busy through the summer on an inspiring fundraising mission.
