Thank you to Cypress families who have supported Jeans for Genes day this year. We’ve seen an array of double denim and our School Dog Seve even got involved! Across Cypress we have raised over £300 for this very worthwhile cause.
MacMillan Coffee Afternoon
Next Friday 25th September we are hosting a MacMillan Coffee fundraising Afternoon for ALL Cypress families. Please join us in the Lower School Hall from 2.30pm for tea, coffee and lots of cake, in peace before you collect the children! Children are then welcome to join in the fun after school as we’ll host a cake sale in the Lower School hall. The success of this event relies heavily on donations, so please send any shop-bought or homemade cakes to either school office on the morning of Friday 25th. If you are sending in a homemade treat, please clearly label any tupperware with your child’s name and class and include a list of ingredients. Please also remember we are nut free school. We are very keen to support this important charity, as many members of our Cypress staff and families are sadly affected by cancer.
House Captains
At the Upper School, our new House Captains and Vice Captains have been voted in and are looking forward to developing their roles and responsibilities this year. For Athens, our House Captain is George and the Vice-Captain is Isobel. The House Captain for Corinth is Betty and the Vice-Captain is Olivia. Olympia‘s House Captain if Freddie and the Vice-Captain is Ted. The House Captain for Sparta is Shen and the Vice-Captain is Jacob.
Well done to the many Year 6 pupils who took a risk and put themselves forward for these roles. We are proud of your confidence and resilience.
Cypress Superstars
Well done to Ronnie for his superb homework! As part of his topic in Year 1 ‘Here we are’ he has created a fabulous piece of art on canvas featuring his name, with information on the reverse about why his parents chose his name. Bella has worked really hard on her writing this week, carefully using her phonics to write words and remembering her finger spaces. What an amazing start to Year 1! Well done to Isaac in Year 4 who has been using his break times to create some beautiful sketches of the school grounds. Ms Binks has loved seeing your drawings this week!
