Green and Indigo’s trip to the Horniman!

Over the last couple of weeks, Green and Indigo class have enjoyed an exciting and memorable trip to the Horniman Museum. Throughout the day, the children discovered many fascinating facts about Africa and explored a variety of African artefacts, including clothing, jewellery, toys and animal skeletons.  The children enjoyed dressing up, talking about their favourite African animals and discussing what the different homemade toys were created with.

Inside the museum, the children also learnt about African musical instruments, had the opportunity to visit the preserved animals and write a note to put onto the wishing tree.  They also had a great time seeing the alpacas and were very excited to discover that the Horniman Museum has a view across part of London.  As it was not as hot Green class went, the children had the chance to play in the museum’s new play area which was lots of fun.

It was a brilliant day filled with learning, discovery and fun. On the journey home, the children shared their favourite moments from the trip.
