We were thrilled to welcome author James Sellick to Cypress as part of our Book Week celebrations. He led an inspirational assembly based on themes raised in his book ‘There’s a Rang-tan in my bedroom’, a story about a little girl who discovers a baby orangutan in her bedroom and then learns about the devastating impact of palm oil production on the rainforests. We learnt lots of facts about orangutans, their habitats and what we can do to help protect this endangered species. To find out more about ‘There’s a Rang-tan in my bedroom’ please click here.
Children in Year 1 were then lucky enough to have a workshop with James Sellick. He also read ‘Storm Goliath’ to Reception and then held a special book signing after school!
Thank you to our wonderful PTFA for funding this very special author visit.
