All our three classes visited the palace this week, as part of their thematic learning on the Tudor era. The workshop leader was genuinely impressed by the children’s knowledge on King Henry VIII. We enjoyed strolling around the gardens and pretending to be the King and Queen hosting a banquet in the Great Hall. Some children even had a go at recreating a Tudor dance, using the steps learned at school! Then we practised curtsying and bowing, as was the custom at the court. Finally the children explored some daily life artefacts and we discussed the use of these objects and the materials they were made from.
Thank you to all our parent volunteers, who helped to keep the children engaged throughout the trip!
