Dear Pegasus families,
It’s been a wonderful year of reading across all of our schools. There have been authors, poets and storyteller visits. Exciting Book Weeks. Book Fairs. Booknics and Reading Cafés. Thank you for supporting our many book-related activities across the year.
We would also like to thank you for supporting your child’s reading at home throughout the year. The summer holidays are a very welcome break for us all and the Summer Reading Challenge helps to support children to continue reading over the holiday. You can take part at your local library, or you can join in online here: https://summerreadingchallenge.org.uk.
Online you will find book suggestions, author videos and lovely reading tips for families. In your local library you will find a treasure trove of different books and book-related activities for children. If children sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge and read six books, they receive a certificate, a medal and are entered in for a very exciting prize draw. Check it out here: https://libraries.croydon.gov.uk/digital-content/library-services/childrens-library-service/summer-reading-challenge
The theme for this year’s challenge is getting outside with your reading! Where could you read? Under a shady tree? In a homemade reading den?
Enjoy your summer reading!
