Year 6 were lucky enough to visit the National Gallery in central London last week to launch our new topic, ‘Greece is the Word’!
The children were treated to a guided talk about several paintings based upon Ancient Greek mythology, listening to expert educators explain the layers of storytelling hidden within the artwork. It was a fascinating experience and the children were thoroughly captivated by all the details shared with them. Some of the groups were even asked to recreate the paintings as a real-life ‘tableau vivant’, some of which you can see below!
